Our Experience
Mr. Papastratakos spent the first few years of his law practice at one of Chicago’s premier law firms. There he investigated and litigated large commercial property loses, defended product liability litigation, and litigated insurance coverage disputes. From there Mr. Papastratakos joined the Law Department of one of America’s largest property and casualty insurers. His experience there included managing class action litigation, False Claims Act litigation, insurance coverage litigation, employment litigation and other complex litigation. Many of the insurance coverage cases that Mr. Papastratakos supervised were cases that made law on significant property insurance issues that arose after Hurricane Katrina and Superstorm Sandy, and on important casualty insurance issues such as the validity and application of various insurance policy exclusions and other provisions. In addition to managing such litigation, Mr. Papastratakos provided this Fortune 500 Company with legal counseling and advice on compliance issues, business process and procedure issues, and led numerous cross-functional teams. Mr. Papastratakos has provided responses to governmental agency investigations and inquiries, and he has worked collaboratively with governmental agencies in the drafting of laws, regulations, and processes.
